Description: A fast-paced roguelike action game in pixel art, inspired by Vampire Survivors and created in just 4 days for the Bigmode Game Jam 2025. The player must face relentless waves of goblins and skeletons, which grow in number and strength with each wave. To survive, they must collect devastating power-ups and combine unique abilities, gradually transforming into an unstoppable force. Can you withstand the ever-growing enemy horde and unleash your full power?

Challenges

During the jam, we tackled several technical and design challenges, including:

• Enemy Collision Handling – Ensuring that monsters never overlap, making movement and combat more readable.
• Performance Optimization – Keeping the game smooth despite having a high number of enemies on screen.
• Cursor-Based Player Mechanics – Implementing movement and attack mechanics that respond dynamically to cursor direction.
• Power Progression System – Designing a power-up system where the character grows stronger and unlocks new abilities over time.

Power as a Core Theme

In this game, power is not just a mechanic—it's the essence of the player's journey. At the start, the protagonist is weak, struggling to survive against endless waves of goblins and skeletons. But with each enemy defeated and each moment survived, they grow stronger, leveling up and unlocking new abilities.

This progression symbolizes the awakening of their true heroic power. As they fight, they reclaim the strength that was always within them, becoming an unstoppable force against the rising horde. The longer they survive, the closer they come to embodying their full potential, making power not just something they gain, but something they were destined to wield.

Our Jam Experience

This was our first game jam, and as a team of two programmers, we gave it our all in just four days. It was a thrilling challenge, from brainstorming to coding and optimizing under pressure. Despite the time crunch, we had a blast, learned a lot, and enjoyed every moment of the process.
